The Process Muse Goes Live on October 26!
What is The Process Muse?
Process fascinates me. Although I discuss my process in relation to how it balances (or doesn’t) with the rest of my life in Ink in My Coffee, this will be a little different, in that I explore topics in depth as to how they apply to particular projects, including the serials. At the beginning, there will be a good deal of focus on the serials, since that’s what I’m juggling.
It will also explore the process of creating a serial especially with an eye to the Substack platform.
I hope readers will share their processes in whatever art or craft they practice, and we can have genuine conversations.
I plan to release one post a week. Wednesday is release day, at this point. The Process Muse is free, and I hope to keep it that way.
I am a full-time writer, working across various genres, in fiction and non-fiction, and am an internationally-produced playwright and radio writer. Writing is my business, not my hobby. It is also my passion. I take my work, and that of my fellow creatives across disciplines very seriously. I also believe in the playful aspect of creation. (Which is why the logo leans more toward the fun than the serious).
If you want a taste of some of my other work, you can visit:
Devon Ellington Work: the flagship website, which has links to the websites of various other projects.
Ink in My Coffee: the almost every weekday blog, discussing the intersection of work and life. This blog turns 20 in 2023.
Legerdemain: A mystery/fantasy/humor serial running on Kindle Vella, with new episodes dropping Tuesdays and Thursdays. One of the things I will do, as I create a different serial for Substack is compare/contrast the experiences on the two platforms. The link leads to the website for the serial (still under construction), which has information about the serial, the link to its Kindle Vella home, and lots of fun extras that couldn’t fit into the serial.
Pages on Stages: the site that focuses on my stage plays and radio plays. (These are not under the Devon Ellington byline). On the radio page, I’ve added links to the productions that are available for you to listen.
Please join me on the journey, and let’s sit down and have some in-depth virtual conversations.
Thank you for being here, and I look forward to integrating the Substack process along with the rest of the proecesses.
